Zipline '06 at Bangor Marina
Marina Manager and Quay Marinas Director, Andrew Jaggers, normally takes the car to work, or sometimes even walks, but on 26th August, he went by zip line.
Disguised as "Stormy Stan" the Lifeboat Man and supported by matching sponsorship from Quay Marinas, he was the first of over 50 participants down the wire in Bangor Marina's third annual charity event, held in aid of two worthy charities, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and CLIC Sargent Cancer Care for Children.
Zip Line '06 formed part of North Down Borough Council's August Bank Holiday weekend of events and fun and with sponsorship money still coming in it is hoped that over £6,000 will be raised.
After his trip, "Stormy Stan" said: "Stepping off the high cradle was a bit tricky for an old seadog like me, but after that it was a breeze".
