The Penarth Quays End of Season Party was blessed with great weather and a high turnout from berth holders and their families and residents from around the marina. The event was held in a marquee erected for the occasion in the Marina Boatyard.
The highlight in the afternoon was the Paper Boat Race which attracted so many entries that the fleet was split into two categories for large and small boats. Winner of the large boat category was Lee from 'Lady Sophie' with his revolutionary trimaran design with the small boat prize going to Sam from 'Gulf Star'. The face painter was busy all afternoon with takings going to charity.
Thanks to the generosity of the commercial businesses at the marina, great prizes were donated for a raffle and, in total, £222 was raised during the day for the RNLI Crew Training Appeal.
The disco had the children strutting their stuff in the afternoon and then provided a great section of tracks throughout the evening. The bar and BBQ were kept busy and, all in all, it was a great day out enjoyed by all who attended.
