Royal Quays Marina was proud to host the Tyne Powerboat Grand Prix over the weekend of 22/23 July.

Heatwave conditions greeted 34 Honda formula four stroke 225 and 150 class powerboats who were racing off the Sand Haven beach at South Shields. The fleet chose Royal Quays Marina to crane in and out, for their dry pit area, overnight berthing and refuelling.

This was the first time the event has come to the North East and due to its success and the warm welcome everyone received, plans are already being made to return next year.
